27/12 Finally the day has arrived when we are once again online. A lot has happened since then and a few updates are necessary.

Firstly, our Genghis has been mated with the beautiful Adderley's A Lot Like Love, "Marcella". (See Kennel Sandø and Kennel Adderley for more information).

New Pictures have been added to the galleries of Genghis and Boris.

To finish, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. Hope to see you all next year.

08/09 New link added - Kennel Adderley of Denmark. In addition we would like to congratulate Adderley with fantastic results at the Danish mastiff club's special. Adderley's Guinness became BOB and Caledonias Last Plane to Memphis became BOS.

Our Genghis became Top Winning male mastiff of 2006/2007. As did Donna who became Top Winning bitch mastiff of 2006/2007. They are now both Norway's Top Winning mastiffs of 2005/2006/2007.

25/07 New page added - About Us.

Boris and I attended the one-week summer course at Nordenstam the first week of July. Boris has been fairly cautious around strangers and the week went a long way to help him. After having gotten lost in the woods surrounding Trysil, we were welcomed by a comfortable hotel room. We got a good night's sleep before the next day's adventure. All participants met in the classroom where we had a few hours with Geir lecturing and explaining the week in greater detail. A quick lunch and we were ready to meet at the football field where all our training was to be had. Boris had a roommate for the week, Mira the Alaskan Husky. She had her crate in our car and they became excellent friends :)

It was an educational week where we had the chance to try some moments from agility. Unfortunately I did not get Boris through the tyre, a sight for sore eyes that would have been ;), but he passed the seesaw with a fair amount of ease and the same goes for the triangle.
Below are some pictures from our week. We were so lucky as to have our own cameraman that week...;)

18/05 New pictures of Boris added to his gallery.
13/05

We have enjoyed two amazing show weekends. Last Saturday we enjoyed a show engineered by Sør-Rogaland Brukshundklubb. A total of 6 mastiffs were entered. The judge of the day was Rajko Rotner.

We will first wish to congratulate Rita and Kim with getting Harley to champion. Harley was best dog ahead of our own Genghis. Harley was also Best of Opposite Sex.

Despite a somewhat cold wind, all the mastiffs had a grand time. Genghis was his usual joyable self, in spite the fact that he much rather wanted to play with the others inside the show ring. Genghis received the following critique:

Compact, strong dog, Jaws should be stronger, Excellent topline, angulation and movement.

Donna enjoyed herself as well and received the following critique:

Excellent expression and style, Good quality and pigmentation, Excellent head, angulation and movement.

When we were done showing we enjoyed a good cup of warm coffee and the company of our mastiff friends.

May 12th we were in Kristiansand for the kennel club's show. The day witnessed a lot of people and lots of dogs that enjoyed the beautiful weather in the southern part of Norway. Genghis and Donna were both entered and Boris was there as mascot and good luck charm. Our judge was Soile Bister.

Despite a long and rather hot day, Genghis danced his way into the show ring. He received the following critique:

Excellent type.Could have been somewhat larger. Nice top-line. Excellent proportions, bone and head. Adequate mask. Nicely angulated. Correct tail. Moves well. Excellent temperament.

28/04 We had a show in Førde, 3 hours North of Bergen. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the company of good friends. Genghis was given a show vacation, so Donna and Boris were entered. Unfortunately the judge was unable to touch Boris so that he could not be given any awards. Donna became BoB and Helge Werner Hagen gave her the following critique:

Attractive overall quality. Excellent head and expression. Good neck, front and topline. Excellent body. Excellent feet and angulations. Good mover. Outstanding coat and temper.

We are proud to congratulate Lillenor with her second C.A.C. towards becoming champion. Her critique reads:

Very attractive overall quality. Stabile with excellent head and expression. Excellent neckline. Good topline. Could have better angualtion in the front. Well proportioned in body. Moderately angulated in the rear. Free movements. Good coat. Outstanding temper.

06/04 We had a long hike in the mountains yesterday with Frode and Pepsi. Our hike took us from Gravdal to Fyllingsdalen and back again. It was a great walk, with the weather ranging from sunshine to light snow. None of which stopped the little ones from taking a little swim.

02/04

Yesterday was this year's most exquisite day. Our day was used wisely as we took a long hike in the beautiful mountains that Bergen has to offer. Together with Frode and Pepsi, Genghis and Boris we went up towards Damsgårdsfjellet, and then up Gravdalsfjellet. When we reached Nipetjernet the little ones had the chance to have a swim. Something they seemed to enjoy immensely. Our trip ended at Tenebekk where our three little friends had a second chance to do some swimming.

30/03 Our Easter holiday has begun, and we took everyone for a good walk in the forest. The little ones had the season's first swim outdoors.

We would also like to congratulate Marzenna and Abby with 9 beautiful puppies.

25/03

The kennel club held their annual dog show in Bergen. Both Donna and Genghis were entered, but Boris was only there as moral support and to train. Our judge was Tamas Jakkel from Hungary, and Per Martem was the writer. Per was one of the founding board members of the Norwegian Mastiff club.

Genghis was his usual joyful self and received the following critique:
Good type, Nice head, Good neck and Shoulders, Good balance and substance, Straightly angulated hind legs, Moved well.

C.AC.I.B. BoB

Donna enjoyed herself and was given the following critique:
Good type, Nice head, Excellent shoulders, She has a nice balanced “typey” outline, Moved well.

C.A.C.I.B. BoS

Genghis’s little 9 months old daughter was also entered into the show. She received her first CAC. An amazing accomplishment for such a young mastiff. She has an exciting time ahead of her. She was given the following critique:
Excellent type, Nice head and expression, Good neck and shoulder, excellent size and balance for her age, Moved well .

C.A.C.

After we were done showing, we gathered for a good time in the sun. At last, the spring weather has begun to rear its ugly head in Bergen as well. Below are some pictures taken today:

11/03 NordHordland club had their annual dog show today and we had Noreen Harris as our judge. The event was as usual a joyous one and we met a lot of mastiff friends. We met Joy from Denmark. A happy mastiff puppy with lots of spirit.

Genghis became BoS and Donna was awarded BoB. Noreen Harris was allowed to touch Boris, which ultimately led to him getting BoS puppy. Their critiques can be read on their individual pages. We wish to congratulate Marzenna and Joy with BoB puppy, and Frode and Pepsi with C.A.C. Below are some pictures of Joy and Pepsi. New pictures under Pictures of Friends.

04/03 New Pictures added to Donna's and Boris' Gallries and also additions made to their common gallery. New links have been added.

Congratulations to CH Ol'Norse Drunte Halftroll and her owners the Skreosen Family. She was awarded her championship last weekend.

18/02 New pictures have been added to Pictures of Friends.
17/02 We had a different type of dog experience today. We visited AquaDog in Bergen and had our dogs swim in their nice pool. AquaDog has a pool that is used for dogs for rehabilitation and general exercise. We had a fun day where we met with the employees of AquaDog and other dog owners. Both the dogs and us had a lot of fun. Below are a handful of pictures taken today. For more information on swimming for dogs, please visit the Training pages --- New Page! A new link for AquaDog Bergen has been added.
10/02 We had our first show of the season in Ølen. It was a cold, but beautiful day that saw 8 mastiffs. Unfortunately Boris wasn't given any prize, seeing that the judge was not allowed to touch him...:) Better luck next time.

Our judge was the esteemed Jean Lanning from Great Britain. Miss Lanning was the Best in Show judge at CRUFTS in 2005, and is also well known as a mastiff judge in England. It was therefore extra exciting when so many of the mastiff entered did so splendidly and were awarded such excellent critiques. Genghis became Best of Breed and Donna became Best of Opposite Sex.

Their critiques can be seen under their news pages. It was fun to see so many mastiffs and old friends.

The highlight of our day was the time we all spent together outside the show ring. Our shows on the western part of Norway have become an event that sees the social gathering as a more important part of the show day than the show itself. Below are some of the happy faces we met:)
